WISCONSIN RAPIDS-August 1, 2011-In an offense-laden battle, the Wisconsin Woodchucks, on the strength of a seven-RBI performance by Danny Susdorf, beat the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 15-7.

The Rafters jumped all over Woodchuck starter Jordan Luvisi, scoring five runs. Sam Montgomery led the inning off with a home run, and things tailed a bit from there. Four more runs scored on four additional hits, including a two-run double by Curtis Frisbie, giving the Rafters an early 5-0 lead.

The score remained there until the sixth, when it was the Woodchucks turn to explode offensively. With one out, Cody Regis, Mike Gerber, and Brian Carroll all walked to load the bases for Danny Susdorf. Susdorf lined a double over Garrett Nash's head in left field, scoring two runs. The following two batters, Kyle DeMerritt and Carlos Escobar, Jr., picked up RBI's as the Woodchucks cut the lead to one run.

In the sixth, it was more of the same, as the Woodchucks scored six runs on four hits, highlighted by a two-run single by Susdorf with the bases loaded.

The Rafters picked up two more in the sixth, cutting the lead to three runs, but the Woodchucks cut the comeback short. In the seventh, the Woodchucks scored five more runs, including a three-run double by Danny Susdorf. Susdorf finished the night 4-6 with two doubles, seven RBI's, three runs scored, and improved his Northwoods League South Division-leading batting average to .349.

Jordan Luvisi picked up the win for the Woodchucks, his first of the season, and Jack Larsen picked up his first loss for the Rafters.

The Woodchucks will head to Green Bay tomorrow to take on the Bullfrogs. That game will start at 7:05.
