Wisconsin Rapids Aims to Continue Winning Ways at Home

Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. - Wisconsin Rapids once again hosts the Kalamazoo Growlers on Monday night, looking to pick up its fourth straight win at Witter Field.

The Rafters snapped a two-game losing streak Sunday night with a 9-2 victory over the Growlers. Wisconsin Rapids, who has now won three-in-a-row at home, scored in six of their eight innings, including five innings straight to start the game. Jake Sandlin (Georgia College) picked up four hits, three doubles and a home run to lead the Rafters' hitters, while starting pitcher Jack Riley (UConn) put together a quality start, tossing six innings and allowing two runs.

Wisconsin Rapids will send Adam Hall (Xavier) to the mound Monday. The tall righty from Dublin, Ohio is 1-0 with a 3.17 ERA in two starts, earning a win in his debut against Wisconsin on May 27. In his second outing, Hall held the Green Bay Bullfrogs to just one run over 6.2 innings, but earned a no decision.

First pitch in game two against the Growlers will be at 7:05 p.m. It's Assumption Catholic Schools Night and Mid-State Technical College Monday at the Witter Field. The first 100 students with a valid Mid-State Technical College ID will receive a free ticket, hot dog, soda and All-Star Game Hat. All fans in attendance will be entertained by the Assumption Royals Choir.
