Wisconsin Herd Announces Promotion and New Hires
October 25, 2018 - NBA G League (G League)
Wisconsin Herd News Release
The Wisconsin Herd promoted Daniel Marks to Director of Basketball Operations and hired Olivia Hill as the team's Director of Communications and Community Relations and Sidney Dobner as a Coaching/Video Associate.
Marks served as the Bucks Manager of Minor League Operations in 2017-18, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Herd in its inaugural season. He also worked closely with Herd General Manager Dave Dean on player acquisitions, scouting and overall roster composition.
"Danny has been instrumental in running our day-to-day operations in Oshkosh, which we consider to be among the best in the G League," said Wisconsin Herd General Manager Dave Dean. "His enthusiasm and passion for this league are unmatched, and we look forward to his continued growth within our organization."
Hill joins the Herd after spending the 2017-18 season with the Utah Jazz as a Public Relations Assistant. Prior to working with the Jazz, Hill held a position as a Communications Assistant with the Washington Wizards and Washington Mystics.
"Olivia has great experience working in the NBA and WNBA and will play a big role in generating media coverage on the Herd and expanding our community relations outreach," said Dean.
Dobner most recently served as the Head Assistant Coach for California Lutheran University women's basketball team. She has also worked closely with former NBA Player Don MacLean coaching boys club basketball for the Conejo Valley Basketball Club. In addition, Dobner spent her last two summers helping with NBA pre-draft workouts for Creative Artist Agency. Previous to that, Dobner played professionally in the Netherlands.
"We always attempt to identify talent, both on and off the floor, and in watching Sidney work it is clear she has it," Dean said. "Her previous playing and work experiences will be a great asset for us, and we are very excited to add her to our already strong staff.
