Texas Legends News Release
FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends have announced the return and expansion of a star-studded talent team for their television broadcasts. Jared Sandler of 105.3 The Fan will return as play-by-play and will be joined by a rotation of celebrity color commentators.
Sandler, now in his third season with the Legends' tv crew, graduated from the University of Southern California with a B.A. in Communications. The Dallas native began his broadcasting career calling minor league baseball and has worked his way up to broadcaster for the Texas Rangers Radio Network. Sandler returns to the Legends as full-time play-by-play host as well as expanding his role in special features for the Legends media team.
"Jared is a true professional and our entire staff really enjoys working with him," said Malcolm Farmer, President and General Manager of the Legends. "He's taken our broadcasts to a whole new level and we're pleased to have him back."
Joining Sandler will be a mix of both familiar and new faces including broadcast veterans Mike Fisher and Nick Neppach, both also on 105.3 The Fan, and former Legends guard Booker Woodfox. Among the new faces, Legends fans can look forward to catching former Bucknell standout Ibrahim Badmus, former WNBA players Alicia Thompson and Yolanda Moore, and 1986 Slam Dunk Champion Spud Webb.
"I'm excited to be back with a first class organization like the Legends," said Sandler. "I love working with Malcolm and the staff, Coach MacKinnon, and the players he brings to Frisco. It's a blast to watch the G League grow through the lens of one of its flagship organizations."
All Legends home games will be broadcast on Fox Sports Go as well as live or tape delayed airings on Fox Sports Southwest or Southwest-Plus.
The live tv broadcasts begin with the home opener Friday, Nov. 9th as the Legends host the Salt Lake City Stars, affiliate of the Utah Jazz, at 7:30pm CT. For tickets or information call 214-469-0822 or visit www.TexLegends.com.
