Portland Winterhawks News Release

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Winterhawks, proud member club of the Western Hockey League (WHL), officially announced today the club's partnership with Portland Gear, a local apparel and accessories company set to become the official supplier of the club.

Portland Gear, founded by Portland native and former University of Oregon student Marcus Harvey, has rapidly become one of the widest recognized brands in the area over the last five years. During that time the company has produced collaborations with the Portland Trail Blazers, Portland Timbers, Portland Thorns, University of Portland, and several local nonprofits. In addition to becoming the club's official apparel supplier, Portland Gear has also played the role of Design Consultancy for the impending new brand identity for the team.

"We're very excited to have the opportunity to work with the Winterhawks and be a part of this change for an iconic Portland franchise," said Harvey. "We've been working very hard for the past few months and are very excited to finally unveil the project."

Monday it was shared that the team will be revealing their new set of logos on Wednesday, July 14.

"One of our primary efforts as an organization is to become more engrained in the Portland community," Michael Kramer or Winterhawks Sports Group said of the partnership. "Who better to work with to craft the future identity of our team than a booming business based out of and revolving around our city?"

Fans will have first access to purchase the team's gear with the new logo Wednesday morning.
