
Winterhawks Alumnus Dan DaSilva Hired as Assistant Coach in Saskatoon

Portland, Ore. - The Saskatoon Blades announced Friday morning the hiring of Winterhawks alumnus Dan DaSilva as the team's new assistant coach.
DaSilva, 36, spent his entire three-year junior hockey career with the Portland Winterhawks (2002-2005), recording 151 points in 200 Western Hockey League games. The Saskatoon, Sask. native was the Winterhawks leading scorer during the 2004-05 season and he was named to the WHL's (West) Second All-Star Team.
After a 16-year professional career playing hockey, including 383 American Hockey League games, DaSilva transitions to his first coaching position.

The Portland Winterhawks begin their 46th season of play on October 1 and will host Seattle on October 2 for the team's home opener.
