
Winter Hawks Get Road Win in Seattle 5-1

Seattle, WA - The Portland Winter Hawks scored three third period goals to break open a close game and they skate away with a 5-1 win over the Seattle Thunderbirds in front of 3994 at the Key Arena in Seattle.
Sawyer Mick scored the first two goals of his WHL career early in the third period and Luke Walker scored the final goal for Portland to clinch the victory.
Seattle got on the scoreboard first when Jonathan Parker scored in the opening minute of the first period, but that would it be it for Seattle.
Portland tied the score halfway through the first period when Jonathan Milhouse rammed home a centering pass from Taylor Peters. Colin Reddin would get the game winner following his own shot and pounding home the rebound in the second period.
Kurtis Mucha stopped 27 shots to get the victory for Portland while Jacob DeSerres stopped 23 of 28 in the loss for Seattle.
On special teams, both teams went scoreless with Portland going 0 for 5 and Seattle going 0 for 3 on the power play.
Next up, the Winter Hawks return to home ice to take on the Tri City Americans at 5:00 at the Rose Garden on Sunday night.
