ADOLFO, LAMBERT GUIDE DASH TO WIN

Behind a go-ahead, three-run homer from Micker Adolfo and a career-high 11 strikeouts from Jimmy Lambert, the Dash edged the Wood Ducks 5-3 in front of 5,683 fans at BB&T Ballpark on Saturday. With Winston-Salem trailing 3-1 in the fifth inning, Adolfo crushed his ninth homer to dead center against Emerson Martinez to give the Dash the advantage. Meanwhile, Lambert reached double-digit strikeouts for the first time in his career, and he reached the eight-inning mark for the second time this season. The former Fresno State Bulldog also retired the last 13 batters he faced on Saturday. Making his High-A debut, Tyler Johnson locked down the save with a 1-2-3 ninth.

LOOK OUT CL, ADOLFO'S BACK

By registering at least one hit in 12 out of his last 13 contests, Adolfo has regained the form that saw him win the Carolina League's Player of the Month Award in April. Over the last 13 games, Adolfo is hitting .302 (16-for-53) with three homers, four doubles and 11 RBIs. During this current homestand, Adolfo has swatted two long balls and driven in six runs. The 21-year-old is coming off a month of May where he posted a .735 OPS, which was proceeded by a .918 mark in April. Adolfo is rated by MLB Pipeline as the 10th-best prospect in the White Sox system.

ROBERT CLEMENTE

Rated the 24th-best overall prospect by MLB Pipeline, Luis Robert is 3-for-11 with two runs scored and an RBI to start at the High-A level. Robert, who was promoted to Winston on Thursday, began the year on the Dash's disabled list with a sprained ligament in his left thumb before being transferred to Low-A Kannapolis, where he posted a line of .289/.360/.400 with four RBIs in 13 games. Chicago signed Robert in May of 2017 for $26 million, the second-largest signing bonus given to an amateur. Robert is wearing #21 due to a suggestion from Dash manager Omar Vizquel, who said Robert reminded him of baseball legend Roberto Clemente.

MORE KANNAPOLIS STARS

Alongside Robert, five players were promoted from Kannapolis to join the Dash on Thursday:

RHP Blake Battenfield (All-Star): seventh-best ERA in the circuit with a 2.00 mark; 17th-round pick out of Oklahoma State in 2017

RHP Tyler Johnson (All-Star): seven saves and a 1.33 ERA with 46K in 27.0IP; fifth-round pick out of the University of South Carolina in 2017

INF Laz Rivera (All-Star): led the SAL in average (.346) with six homers and 24 RBIs; 28th-round pick out of the University of Tampa in 2017

OF Luis Gonzalez (All-Star): Logged an impressive .850 OPS with eight homers and 26 RBIs; third-round pick out of the University of New Mexico in 2017

RHP Lincoln Henzman: Went 6-3 with a 2.23 ERA in 13 starts; fourth-round pick out of the University of Louisville in 2017

VAMOS, RAYADOS

For the third time this season, Winston-Salem will be sporting its Rayados jerseys as part of Minor League Baseball's "Copa de la Diversión," or "Fun Cup," a season-long event series specifically designed to embrace the culture and values that resonate most with participating teams' local Hispanic/Latino communities. "Rayados" translates to "the Striped Ones," and is born out of a collaboration with the baseball team and the Hispanic League of Winston-Salem. The ball club is 2-0 in its Rayados jerseys, with both games being won by Dylan Cease, who at this current time is the greatest pitcher in Rayados history.

DASH DOTS

Blake Hickman will be making his second start of the year on Sunday...The right-hander last pitched a week ago against the Wilmington Blue Rocks, where he gave up seven runs in 3.1 frames...Prior to his last time out, Hickman was used as a reliever out of the Winston-Salem bullpen...Winston-Salem has only started the second half 4-0 once in the Dash era (2009-present), with that lone occurrence taking place during the 2015 campaign.
