Lynchburg, VA- Keenan Wiley provided excitement for the fans at City Stadium as he hit an inside-the-park home run in the fourth inning. However, the Winston-Salem Dash rallied late and beat the Hillcats 5-4 on Sunday night.

The Dash welcomed Hillcats starter Matt Talley to the Carolina league by hitting back-to-back doubles in the top of the first inning to score the first run of the game. They then had three hits in the top of the third to extend the lead to 3-0.

The Hillcats got all the runs back with one swing in the bottom of the third inning. With two outs and runners on first and second, Joey Terdoslavich hit a blast to left field for his 20th home run of the season, and tied the game at three.

The Dash tied the game in the top of the seventh. With Daniel Wagner on second after a stolen base, Tyler Saladino singled to drive him in and tie the game at four.

After a short rain delay, Andy Russell came back to the mound to continue his relief outing in the eighth inning. Andy Wilkins was the first batter he faced after the delay, and hit a home run to right field to give the Dash the 5-4 lead. Despite threatening in the eighth and ninth innings, the Hillcats wouldn't score again.

Russell (2-2) took the loss and Matt Wickswat (6-6) earned the win after pitching seven innings for Winston-Salem. Taylor Thompson pitched the ninth for his fifteenth save.

The Hillcats well to 29-38 in the second half. Winston-Salem improved to 37-32, but were eliminated from the playoff race after Kinston swept a doubleheader with the Potomac Nationals.
