WINSTON-SALEM DASH (23-22) at CAROLINA MUDCATS (16-30)

RHP Bryan Blough (2-4, 5.36 ERA) vs. RHP Nick Pasquale (0-2, 5.59 ERA)

6:15 p.m. - Five County Stadium (Zebulon, NC)

MUDDIES SNAP DASH'S WIN STREAK Winston-Salem saw its five-game winning streak come to an end thanks to a 5-3 loss to the Carolina Mudcats Friday night at Five County Stadium. The Muddies led throughout the contest, but the Dash threatened in the ninth. Winston plated a pair of runs and had two men on with two away, but David Herbek flew out just shy of the warning track to end the rally and the game. Winston-Salem starter Ryan Buch, who allowed four runs (two earned) in 4.2 innings, suffered his first loss of the season.

NO SIX PACK The Dash could not extend their winning streak to six games, which would have been the second-longest run in the Carolina League this season. First-place Myrtle Beach won seven in a row from May 7-13, while Potomac also had a five-game streak from May 8-12. Friday's loss was Winston-Salem's first defeat since last Thursday (May 16) when the Pelicans thumped the Dash 12-3 at BB&T Ballpark. During the streak, Winston outscored its opponents 34-15.

RAVELO ROLLING Dash infielder Rangel Ravelo has hit safely in all seven games during his High-A career. Ravelo boasts an average of .500 (12-for-24) with 10 RBIs and four runs scored in a Dash uniform. Following his first career promotion to Winston-Salem on May 2, Ravelo played in two games before reopening a cut on his left thumb that was suffered during his time in Kannapolis. Upon his return from a two-week disabled list stint, Ravelo is 8-for-19 with nine RBIs.

WE'RE GOING STREAKING Jeremy Farrell extended his hitting streak to seven games with a 2-for-4 showing Friday. Farrell is hitting .462 (12-for-26) with two home runs and eight RBIs during the streak. Farrell, who is tied for the CL lead with 34 RBIs, also had a 10-game hitting streak from April 29-May 10, which is two shy of the league's longest run in 2013 (David Rohm, Lynchburg).

NO FUN IN ZEBULON The Dash have yet to win a game in four tries inside Five County Stadium. Carolina swept the Dash in the first series of the season from April 5-7, which marked the Dash's first sweep in their previous 57 series. This is Winston-Salem's longest losing streak at a road stadium since Salem claimed five straight wins over the Dash at LewisGale Field in 2011 (July 9-11, August 22-23). In 14 all-time games in Zebulon, the Dash are 6-8, while Winston-Salem is 10-3 against the Mudcats at BB&T Ballpark.

PLAYOFF PUSH? Even though Winston-Salem trails Myrtle Beach by six games in the Southern Division standings, the Dash's schedule sets up for a possible climb up the standings. Of the final 25 games of the first half, 17 of them come against teams with losing records. The only first-place team left on the schedule is Lynchburg (June 10-12).

HEISLER, MiLB-BEST STREAK ON HOLD Outfielder Adam Heisler, who owns the longest active on-base streak in Minor League Baseball, was placed on the disabled list with a knee injury, the White Sox announced Wednesday. Dating back to last season, Heisler has reached base in 41 straight games. He hurt his knee last Sunday (May 12) in Potomac and missed the following three games (May 13-15) due to that injury. After returning to the lineup for three games, Heisler has not played since Saturday.

BB&T BALLPARK REACHES ONE MILLION The Dash celebrated the one millionth fan in BB&T Ballpark history on May 16. Since the ballpark opened on April 13, 2010, a total of 1,017,738 fans have attended a Dash game at BB&T Ballpark, which calculates to 4,523 fans per opening. To celebrate, the Dash let one lucky fan (Alisa Keegan) play a game of chance following the bottom of the seventh inning Thursday for one of three prizes: one million dollars, a two-year lease on a $30,000 vehicle from Flow Companies or two Dash tickets for life.
