DeMICHELE, DASH WALK OFF Joey DeMichele's three-run home run in the bottom of the 11th propelled Winston-Salem to a 12-9 victory over the Frederick Keys Wednesday afternoon at BB&T Ballpark. The Dash jumped out to a 5-1 lead before the Keys plated the game's next eight runs, including six in the fifth. Winston knotted the score at nine apiece with four in the seventh, capped by Chris Curley's two-run blast. The Dash had a runner thrown out at home in the ninth before loading the bases but failing to score in the 10th. In the victory, eight men had scored at least one run, while seven posted at least one RBI.

BB&T BALLPARK IS A SWEEP-FREE ZONE By mustering its biggest comeback victory and first walk-off win of the season, Winston-Salem preserved an impressive streak inside BB&T Ballpark. The Dash have won at least one game in all 68 regular season series played in the facility since its opening in April of 2010. Despite an 8-8 mark this season, Winston boasts the best home record in Minor League Baseball since BB&T Ballpark opened (142-85, .626 W%).

HEISLER'S ON-BASE STREAK Dating back to last season, Winston-Salem outfielder Adam Heisler has reached base in 35 straight games, which is the third-longest current streak in Minor League Baseball. Jamal Austin of High Desert (High-A, Seattle) has reached safely in 41 straight games, while Scooter Gennett of Nashville (Triple-A, Milwaukee) is working on a 37-game run. Heisler extended his streak Wednesday with a 3-for-5 showing, which included three runs scored and an RBI.

MORE ON THE STREAK Heisler reached in his final three games of 2012 while with rookie-level Great Falls before finding his way on base in all 32 games this year (19 with Low-A Kannapolis and 13 with Winston-Salem). Heisler has hit safely in 28 of these 35 games, during which he owns a .314 average (43-for-137) with 16 RBIs and 26 runs scored.

FARRELL IS GOING STREAKING, TOO Dash infielder Jeremy Farrell boasts a nine-game hitting streak, which is the longest active run in the Carolina League. Teammate Mark Haddow and Salem slugger Garin Cecchini both posted 11-game streaks, which are the longest on the circuit this season. Farrell is hitting .378 (14-for-37) with three homers and 12 RBIs during the streak.

ERROR FREE IS THE WAY TO BE Friday's series opener features the two best defensive units in the Carolina League thus far this season. Winston-Salem leads the CL in fielding percentage (.97585), while the P-Nats (.97571) are a sliver behind the Dash. Both squads have committed a league-low 29 errors. The Dash stumbled out of the gates defensively, amassing 10 errors in their first four games and 21 in their first 14. Since then, though, the Dash have only made eight defensive miscues in their last 18 games, 11 of which have been error-free.

TURN UP THE BASS Dash starter Chris Bassitt boasts the fourth-lowest earned run average in the Carolina League (1.95). In his last four outings, all of which have been victories and quality starts, Bassitt has allowed just three earned runs in 27 innings of work. In all four of these instances, the former Akron Zip was facing a team for the first time in 2013, which will also be the case this evening. This season, Bassitt has struck out 36 and walked only 10 in 37.0 innings after whiffing 75 and issuing 54 walks in 91.0 frames in 2012.

LAST SEASON AGAINST POTOMAC WInston-Salem turned in a 15-5 record versus the P-Nats a year ago, which included a perfect 10-0 mark at BB&T Ballpark. The Dash hit .311 and scored 7.4 runs per game in those 20 games. At Pfitzner Stadium, the Dash and Nationals each won a three-game set following a four-game series split from April 30-May 3. After tonight's opener, the Dash will have played every team in the CL at least once this season.
