Winnipeg Jets Jets Re-Assign Peter Budaj to IceCaps

The Winnipeg Jets announced they have re-assigned goaltender Peter Budaj to the St. John's IceCaps of the American Hockey League.

Budaj, 32, and forward Patrick Holland were acquired from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for forward Eric Tangradi on Sunday, Oct. 5/14. The goaltender from Banská Bystrica, Slovakia is a veteran of nine NHL seasons with the Colorado Avalanche and Montreal Canadiens. He has played in 296 NHL games between the two clubs, compiling a record of 124-107-36 with a 2.76 goals against average, .903 save percentage, and 11 career shutouts. His most recent season in Montreal saw him collect a 10-8-3 record with a 2.51 goals against average and .909 save percentage. Budaj was originally drafted by the Colorado Avalanche in the second round, 63rd overall, of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
