Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins News Release

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins will be helping to raise funds for the families of Cpl. Bryon Dickson and Trooper Alex Douglas, while showing support for the troopers who are currently engaged in the search for their accused shooter, during the opening weekend of the American Hockey League season.

Fans attending the team's game on Saturday, October 11 against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms will be able to purchase PSP Strong t-shirts, car decals and bracelets from the PSP Wives association. All proceeds from sales of these will benefit the victims and families of the PSP Blooming Grove shooting on September 12. Sales will take place from 5:30-7:30pm outside of the East Gate of the Mohegan Sun Arena. T-shirts will be $15 for adult sizes and $12 for youth sizes; car decals will be $5 apiece; and bracelets will be $3 each.

Additionally the Penguins will be eliminating all dasher board advertising for the opening weekend (which also features a contest on Sunday at 4:05pm against the Manchester Monarchs) and replacing the normal ads with PSP Strong logos and Pennsylvania State Police graphics lining the boards around the ice.
