Winnipeg ICE Collect 5-1 Win over Wheat Kings in Portage

Winnipeg, MB - Connor McClennon tallied two points and Matthew Savoie recorded two assists as the Winnipeg ICE defeated the Brandon Wheat Kings 5-1 at Stride Place in Portage La Prairie on Saturday night.

With the win, the ICE split the pre-season home-and-home series with the Wheaties.

Cole Muir, Logan Danis, Brad Ginnell and Owen Pederson scored the other goals for the ICE. Goaltender Will Gurski stopped 22-of-23 shots he faced in 60-minutes of work.

The ICE continue its pre-season schedule on the road against the Saskatoon Blades on Friday, September 13 and Saturday, September 14. The ICE begin the 2019-2020 regular season against the Brandon Wheat Kings at Westoba Place on Friday, September 20.
