WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the Calgary Stampeders today made a blockbuster trade involving five players and a draft choice.

The Blue Bombers traded quarterback Khari Jones, fullback Randy Bowles and their 4th Round pick in the 2006 Canadian College Draft to the Stampeders for defensive tackle Joe Fleming, safety Wes Lysack and fullback Scott Regimbald.

Fleming, Lysack and Regimbald are expected to arrive in Winnipeg Monday. The Winnipeg Football Club will keep media members informed as to the interview availability of these new Bomber players as information becomes available.

The following is a brief look at the players involved in the trade:

COMING TO WINNIPEG

DEFENSIVE TACKLE JOE FLEMING

Defensive tackle Joe Fleming is a four-time CFL All-Star, a four-time Divisional All-Star and the CFL's Most Outstanding Defensive Player in 2003.

Fleming is in his 8th CFL season and will begin his 3rd season – and second tour of duty – with the Blue Bombers, having played for the club in 1998 and 1999. He has played in 123 CFL regular-season games, four playoff games and one Grey Cup. He has played in 27 games as a member of the Blue Bombers.

Fleming has played with three CFL sides: British Columbia (1996 & 1997), Winnipeg (1997 & 1998) and Calgary (1999-2001 & 2003). He also spent time with the NFL's Cleveland Browns (1995) and Chicago Bears (1999).

He has 64 career quarterback sacks to his credit, along with 231 defensive tackles.

SAFETY WES LYSACK

Safety Wes Lysack is one of the top up-and-coming prospects in the Canadian Football League.

The Stampeders originally acquired Lysack in the 1st Round (5th Overall) pick in the 2003 Canadian College Draft. The Stamps traded wide receiver Travis Moore and linebacker Chris Hoople to the Saskatchewan Roughriders to acquire the draft choice that became Lysack.

Lysack played in 10 regular-season games in his rookie year of 2003, recording 15 defensive tackles, three special teams tackles, one fumble return and one pass knockdown.

Lysack returns to familiar territory, as he was a key member of the University of Manitoba Bisons in 2002. He also played college football for Rutgers University.

FULLBACK SCOTT REGIMBALD

Fullback Scott Regimbald is a Canadian fullback with great hands and good speed. He is in his 5th CFL campaign.

The Stampeders originally picked up Regimbald with the 1st Round pick (7th Overall) in the 2000 Canadian College Draft.

He has played in 86 regular-season games, three playoff games and one Grey Cup – all as a member of the Stampeders.

He has 30 career receptions for 377 yards and one touchdown. He also has 27 rushes for 91 yards and five more touchdowns.

GOING TO CALGARY

QUARTERBACK KHARI JONES

Khari Jones was the CFL's most winning quarterback in the three-year period from 2001-2003. He posted massive and mammoth numbers during that time and remains one of the top talents in the CFL.

Jones played five years with Winnipeg and is in his 8th campaign in the CFL. The CFL's Most Outstanding Player in 2001 holds 18 Winnipeg Blue Bombers records and is in the Top-10 in many more categories.

Jones has played in 119 regular-season games, eight playoff games and one Grey Cup. His Bomber totals are 83 regular-season games, six playoff contests and one Grey Cup.

A CFL All-Star in 2001, Jones is a two-time divisional all-star, a two-time CFLPA All-Star and a two-time member of the Walby's Warriors Team.

A four-time CFL Player of the Week and two-time CFL Player of the Month Award winner, Jones is one of the biggest community service volunteers in the league. He was recognized in 2003 for his exceptional community efforts by winning the Cal Murphy Heart of a Legend Award as the team's nominee for the prestigious Tom Pate Memorial Award.

FULLBACK RANDY BOWLES

The Blue Bombers acquired fullback Randy Bowles – along with centre Corey Annett – in a trade with the Toronto Argonauts, Feb. 13, 2004.

Bowles is in his 4th CFL season. He has played in 60 regular-season games and four playoff games. He played 11 games as a member of the Blue Bombers.

Calgary will be Bowles' 4th CFL team, following Winnipeg, the Toronto Argonauts and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
