Stamps acquire 2001 CFL Most Outstanding Player Khari Jones

(Calgary) – Today Calgary Stampeders General Manager and Head Coach Matt Dunigan announced a trade with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Traded to the Stampeders is the 2001 CFL Most Outstanding Player Khari Jones, non-import Fullback Randy Bowles and Winnipeg's fourth round pick in the 2006 Canadian College Draft. In return the Blue Bombers acquire Defensive Lineman Joe Fleming, Fullback Scott Regimbald and Safety Wes Lysack.

Quarterback Khari Jones is a CFL All-Star in 2001, a two-time divisional all-star, a two-time CFLPA All-Star and a two-time member of the Walby's Warriors team. In his 5 seasons with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers he broke 18 team records and sits near the top of many offensive categories. Before entering this season no quarterback has won more games over the past three seasons in the CFL than Jones.

Both Khari Jones and Randy Bowles will be available today September 26, 2004 at 3:30 pm (McMahon Stadium – Administration Office)
