
Wings West to Host ACHA North Regional Playoffs

Kalamazoo, MI- Stadium Management Company (SMC), which owns the Wings Stadium Complex, Wings West, Kalamazoo Wings and Kalamazoo Jr. Wings announce that the ACHA Division III North Regional Playoffs will be hosted at Wings West this Friday, February 15th and Saturday, February 16th.
Eight teams, mainly from Michigan, will converge to Wings West for an opportunity to advance to the ACHA Division III championships.
With the top two teams (Davenport University and Hope College) in the North Region have already received a berth to the ACHA Division III tournament, two more teams will try to punch their tickets to the national tournament, which will be held in March in Springfield, Missouri.
Competing this weekend will be Adrian College, Calvin College, Grand Valley State University, Indiana University Purdue University-Fort Wayne, University of Michigan at Flint, Michigan State, Oakland University and Saginaw Valley State University.
The format of the Regional will feature four games on Friday. The winners of those games will advance to Saturday. The two victorious teams from Saturday's action will earn a berth to the national tournament.
Tickets for the ACHA Division III North Regional Playoffs are $5 for each day and are available at Wings West on game day. Children eight and under are FREE. The following is the bracket for this weekend's tournament.

Stadium Management Company owns the Wings Stadium Complex, the Kalamazoo Wings hockey team, Wings West and the Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings hockey team. The Wings Stadium Complex is comprised of three buildings; Wings Stadium seats more than 5,100 fans for K-Wings home games and more than 6,000 people for concerts and other stage events. The Annex seats 1,367 for ice events and can hold up to 2,850 for non-ice events such as car, boat, and trade shows. The Cube plays host to both ice and non-ice events. Wings West is comprised of two ice sheets plus Old Burdick's Restaurant at Wings West. The Borgess Ice Rink can accommodate more than 1,200 fans for Jr. K-Wings games. The Olympic Rink plays host to both ice and non-ice events. Both facilities are available for rental and feature numerous catering and meeting opportunities.
