Aberdeen Wings News Release
The Aberdeen Wings, proud members of the North American Hockey League have announced the signing of Kyle Mortenson to a Tender for the 2022-2023. Mortenson is a 6â² 194LB left handed defenseman from Wayzata, MN. He is currently playing in his 2nd season with the Granite City Lumberjacks of the NA3HL. Kyle has 7 goals and 25 assists in 51 games played with the Lumberjacks. He is also a +45 with 30 penalty minutes for the Lumberjacks.
"I am extremely excited about the signing of Defenseman Kyle Mortenson from the Granite City Lumberjacks. Kyle will be a great addition as he is a smooth skating defenseman that has great vision of the ice and plays with poise. With the system and details that we want to play, Mortenson will fit that mold extremely well as he does a good job of using his skating to get out of trouble and has the ability to move the puck quickly and cleanly up the ice. As an organization we know that he is coming from a top notch NA3HL coaching staff in Brad Wilner and DJ Vold, and we believe he is ready to make the jump." - Wings Assistant Coach Zach Stepan
