Wings Shut out Blizzard 4-0

Aberdeen Wings News Release
The Aberdeen Wings were back at the Odde Friday night and in front of a post-holiday crowd they impressed. The Wings used consistency, and defense to shut out the Brookings Blizzard 4-0. Aberdeen got on the board midway through the 1st when Kieran Durgan scored with assists going to Ryan Murphy and Ryan Cook. The 2nd was more of the same great defense lead to great offense when Jackson Graalum used speed and strength to put on past the Brookings goaltender. Assisting on the Graalum goal were Carter Roo and Chris Murphy. Finally the Wings headed into the third with a two goal lead, but in no way were they going to get caught on their heels as they continued to pressure and ended up getting an unassisted top shelf snipe from Jake Leitner. Aberdeen would add an empty netter from Gavin Payne with that assist going to Leitner as well. That took care of the scoring but the defense and the goaltending from Peter Thome would steal the show. Thome stopped all 36 shots he face while the defense held the Blizzard 0-3 on the power play. Aberdeen improved to 7-9-4 on the season and will look to improve on that Saturday when rival Bismarck comes to town. Game time is 7:15 at the Odde!
