Lone Star Brahmas News Release
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX - After a shocking Wednesday evening, the Brahmas bounced back on Friday earning a 2-0 win over the Amarillo Bulls.
Both Brahmas goals came in the opening 20 minutes of the contest, beginning with Alex Berardinelli recording his team-leading 12th tally of the season. The play was set up by Cam Clarke who unleashed a wicked outlet pass the length of the ice to Peter Kessel who walked in, faked a shot, and hit a streaking Berardinelli who had plenty of net to beat Anton Martinsson.
Then, with just 21 seconds left in the period Bud Madej was credited with a redirection tally to put the Brahmas up by two.
For the duration of the remaining time the Brahmas dominated the offensive possession allowing the Bulls very little room to breathe, hence why they only concluded with nine total shots.
Conor O'Brien turned aside all of the nine mentioned for his second shutout of the season. This, however, was the first that resulted in a win as the other came back during the NAHL Showcase in a shootout loss to the Fairbanks IceDogs.
The two teams will face each other again tomorrow night beginning at 7:35 at NYTEX Sports Centre. It will be the final tilt of their Military Appreciation Weekend and will feature a post-game jersey auction. Fans who come out tomorrow will receive a free Military Appreciation Poster featuring a Brahmas player and another free poster containing the second installment of our ACME Brick player feature series.
Tickets are available by calling 817-336-4ICE, atop your screen under the TICKETS tab, or by stopping by the NYTEX Sports Centre box office.
