Aberdeen Wings News Release
After losing their last 6 games, the Aberdeen Wings needed a strong weekend to try and raise the momentum of the season. Thanks to great play by both veterans and rookies, plus a strong performance from their rookie goaltender, the Wings came away with 3 wins and 6 points last week.
The ballot for the NAHL Star of the Week could feature many Aberdeen Wings players, but most notably Wings rookie goaltender #30 Henry Dill (G-Columbus, OH) had an amazing weekend. After the Wings went down 3-0 in the first period of Thursday night's game against Minot, Dill was placed in goal. In the eight periods he played over the weekend, Dill stopped 59 of 62 shots for 3 wins, a 95% save percentage, and 1.12 goals against average.
#4 Jake Horton (D-Plymouth, MN) has scored 18 goals this season, 3 of which he got over last week including an assist for 4 total points. Also scoring four points were Wings forwards #11 TJ Roo (F-Coon Rapids, MN), #15 Jordan Heller (F-Bemidji, MN), and #24 Jonathan Grebosky (F-Pittsburgh, PA).
Roo, who has committed to play collegiate hockey at his father's alma mater Bemidji State University, offered assists to four goals over the week. Heller, also a commit to Bemidji State University had a goal and three assists. Grebosky, who will be featured next week in the NAHL Top Prospects Tournament had a great week with one goal and three assists. Other great statistical performers for the Wings included #16 Kyle Haak (F-Okemos, MI) who had two goals and an assist. The Wings also got goals over the weekend from #20 Dillon Eichstadt (D-Bemidji, MN), #9 Pat Steinhauser (F-Plymouth, MN), #21 Bjorn Sigurdarson (F-Reykjavik, Iceland), and #27 Erik Baskin (F-Minnetonka, MN).
The Aberdeen Wings are in action this weekend against the Brookings Blizzard and Minot Minotauros again, both games at the Odde Ice Center. Tickets start at just $10, get reserved seating for $12. Get ready for two fun filled nights of entertainment at the #1 hockey show in the North American Hockey League.
