Everything you need to know about this weekend's road games vs. Brookings Friday and Bismarck Saturday.
Friday night January 22nd at the Larson Ice Center, 7:30 CST puck drop. The Aberdeen Wings (12-16-6) will load the bus and head south to face instate rival Brookings Blizzard (15-15-6) Friday night. So far this year the Wings are 5-1-2 vs. the Blizzard, winning the last 5. By no means does that mean the Wings will be overlooking the Blizzard as 4 of their meetings have gone into overtime and the others were all within a few goals. Tucker DeYoung has lead the Wings vs. the Blizzard so far this year, having played in all 8 games vs. Brookings DeYoung has 3 goals, 4 assists, and is a +2 on the season. Kevin Fitzgerald, Jake Leitner, Jackson Graalum, and Carter Roo follow Tucker with 6 Points each vs. Brookings.
Saturday night January 23rd at the VFW Sports Center, 7:15CST puck drop. The Wings will head North to the capital of North Dakota to take on the Bismarck Bobcats (20-13-1) who will have an extra night to prepare for the Wings arrival having Friday night off. So far this season the series has been one sided with the Bobcats going 5-0-1 against the Wings. Aberdeen looks to right the ship at the VFW Sports Center Saturday. Offense has been the issue so far this year vs. the Bobcats as Aberdeen has only managed to put 7 goals on the board in the 6 meetings. Leading the way for Aberdeen is Captain and Defenseman Tanner Okeson with 3 points, (1 goal, 2 assists).
