
'Wings rally for 'W'

Edinburg, TX - The Harlingen WhiteWings (12-17) sent 11 men to the plate against three different pitchers and scored five runs in the seventh inning, erasing a 3-2 deficit to beat the Edinburg Coyotes (10-18) 7-5 tonight at Edinburg Stadium.
Bub Bergstrom and Kevin Griffin started off the seventh with singles against Aaron Guerra (2-1). One out later, Ryan Fox walked and Brian Nichols hit a two-run single. Adam Clay replaced Guerra and walked David Fowler. Terry Roblez followed with a sacrifice fly. David Cardona and Amadeo Zazueta hit back-to-back RBI-singles to make it 7-3 WhiteWings. Bergstrom would walk to knock out Clay. Luke Prihoda retired Griffin for the final out of the inning.
The Coyotes got two back in the eighth when Eric Gonzalez and Logan Wood drew one-out walks against Juan Jimenez (2-1). Brian Daly came on and got Patrick Gaylord to hit a grounder to second, but it was thrown away, allowing a run to score and Wood to go to third, from where he scored on an Eddie Wilson ground out to make it 7-5.
Caleb Balbuena pitched a scoreless ninth for his sixth save.
The Coyotes got on the board against Kenny Evoniuk in the seond when Gonzalez drew a leadoff walk and, one batter later, scored on a single by Gaylord to make it1-0.
In the third, Angelo Fermin drew a leadoff walk and then havoc ensued. Fermin stole second and Griffin's throw went into centerfield, so Fermin took off for third. Fowler's throw was wild, allowing Fermin to score, making it 2-0.
The WhiteWings got their first run in the fourth when Nichols led off with a double against Guerra and later scored on a Cardona single to make it 2-1.
The Coyotes got that run back in the fifth when they loaded the bases with nobody out and Gary Roche hit a sacrifice fly to drive in Wilson, making it 3-1.
The WhiteWings took that run right back in the sixth when Fox led off with a walk and later scored on an single by Fowler to make it 3-2.
The WhiteWings and Coyotes play game three of this three-game set tomorrow night at 7:05. Right-hander Alex Gett (1-4) will face right-hander Eric Montoya (2-2)
