
Wings Fall Short in OT 3-2, Gain a Point

The Aberdeen Wings were in action Wednesday in a pre-Thanksgiving game at the Odde Ice Center against the Minot Minotauros. The Wings battled, but in the final seconds of overtime came up short 3-2.
The first period was a quick one. Only a handful of stoppages and one penalty. The period ended scoreless.
The Minot Minotauros controlled most of the second period, scoring twice. At 10:14, scoring was Minot's Christian Mohs. Shortly after, Minot would get another goal from Luke Davison. While on the power play at the 13:59 mark, the Wings would get on the scoreboard with a goal from #11 Victor Ostling (F-Stockholm, Sweden), his first career NAHL goal. The assists would be credited to #4 Eric Moser (D-Chicago, IL) and #8 Drew Doyon (F-Indianapolis, IN). The period would end with the Wings down 2-1.
The third period would be a back and forth battle. Puck possession and heavy hits would be the tempo and pace of the period. Again, Aberdeen would tie the game up late in the period with a goal from #25 Tucker DeYoung (F-Lake Bluff, IL) with assists to #14 Collin Hughes (F-Lino Lakes, MN) and #11 Victor Ostling. The period would end 2-2.
In overtime, the final second would begin ticking away but Minot's Casey Johnson would score the game winner. The Wings do receive a point for the overtime loss. Wings goaltender #35 Andrew Shortridge (G-Eagle River, AK) stopped 38 of 41 shots on goal.

The Aberdeen Wings wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. The Wings are back on home ice this Friday and Saturday against the Austin Bruins. Friday night is Free Kids Friday, where kids 12 and under receive free admission with the purchase of an adult ticket. Saturday night is High School Night. HS students can show their current valid HS I.D. and receive $2 off admission.
