
Wings Fall in Season Opener

The Aberdeen Wings kicked off the 2018-2019 regular season and 16th Annual NAHL Showcase Wednesday in Blaine, MN . The Wings struggled to get their offense going however and ended up falling to the Minnesota Magicians 3-0. 5:28 into the opening frame the Wings went down by 1 when Wirth scored on the power play. The Magicians would add another just before intermission when Keranen scored at the 19:40 marker. Minnesota would add another early in the 2nd off the stick of Passarelli. Minutes later Joe Strada thought he had a goal but the referees waived it off. Another would be goal was waived off for the Wings in the 3rd ending the game with a 3-0 score. Close was in net for the Wings and stopped 28 of the 31 shots he faced in the loss.
