
Wings Fall in Home Opener 2-5

The Aberdeen Wings jumped out to an early lead, but ultimately gave up 5 unanswered goals to fall to the Bismarck Bobcats 5-2 Friday night at the Odde Ice Center.
Bennet Koupal was able to start the scoring on the power play at the 5:58 mark of the first period. Kohnen and Ness assisted on the goal. Leonid Bulgakov was able to give the Wings a 2-0 lead at the 7:03 mark of the period. Winkler & Tishkevich assisted on the goal. After that it was all Bobcats as they were able to score 3 straight to close out the 1st period with a 3-2 lead. Hunter, Doll & Beaumont were the goal scores for Bismarck.
After a scoreless 2nd period, Bismarck would add a pair of 3rd period goals to come away with the 5-2 win. Farren & Neu were the goal scores for the Bobcats in the 3rd. Gage Stewart stopped 22 of 27 shots he faced in net. The two teams will meet again at the Odde Saturday night for round II.
