Indianapolis, Indiana - The Dallas Wings (12-15) defeated the Indiana Fever (5-25), 96-86, at Hinkle Fieldhouse, Sunday afternoon.
Arike Ogunbowale led the Wings with 22 points and five assists, including seven points in the final 1:30 in the game to close out the win for Dallas. She was joined in double-figures by Allisha Gray, who surpassed 2,000 career points finishing with 16 points, Teaira McCowan, who put up 17 in her return to Indiana, and Kayla Thornton, whose 11 points gave her double-digit points in back-to-back games for the first time this season.
As a team, Dallas also dished out 24 assists, led by Ogunbowale, who had five. The Wings also rejected six shots, including two by guard Allisha Gray, giving her 19 on the season, the second most among players six feet tall or less.
Dallas returns home to battle the Washington Mystics (17 - 11) on Thursday, July 28, at 7:00 p.m. CT on Bally Sports Southwest Extra and CBSSN.
Notables:
Allisha Gray passed the 2000-point mark on a three at the 40 second mark of the second quarter. She finished with 16.
In her return to Indiana, center Teaira McCowan scored 17 points, going 8 of 10 from the field and grabbing a team-high seven rebounds.
Arike Ogunbowale netted 22 points and dished out 5 assists.
Forward Kayla Thornton notched 11 points, the first time this season she has scored in double-figures in back-to-back games.
Dallas dished out 24 assists as a team, the third time this season they have dished out 20 or more assists in back-to-back games.
The Wings have made at least 10 free throws in every game but two this season, including sinking 16 from the line tonight.
