February 22, 2006 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Philadelphia Wings News Release

The National Lacrosse League will induct Philadelphia Wings President and Owner Russ Cline and Executive Vice-President and Owner Chris Fritz as members of the charter class of the NLL Hall of Fame this Thursday, February 23 at the Liberty Grand Entertainment Complex in Toronto, ON. Cline and Fritz will join former Wings players Gary and Paul Gait along with the late Les Bartley, coach of seven NLL Championship Teams.

"To be inducted into the NLL Hall of Fame is without question, one of the most gratifying and humbling experiences of my life," said Wings President and Owner Russ Cline. "I want to thank my partner Chris Fritz, all the past and present Wings players, coaches, arena staffs, and sponsors who made this recognition possible."

In addition to the formal induction ceremony on Thursday night, Cline, Fritz, and the rest of the Hall of Fame inductees will be recognized prior to the Wings match-up against the Toronto Rock on Friday, February 24 at Air Canada Centre at 7:30 p.m.

The Kansas City based Cline and Fritz were co-founders of the Eagle Pro Box Lacrosse League, which was incorporated on March 13, 1986. The Eagle Pro Box Lacrosse League later became known as the Major Indoor Lacrosse League. The league became the National Lacrosse League in 1997.

For the past nineteen years, Cline and Fritz have been involved with the Philadelphia Wings and indoor lacrosse. Together, they pioneered and promoted the sport of indoor lacrosse in the United States and are largely responsible for the game's growth and development today. Cline currently serves as Owner, President, and Governor of the Wings while Fritz serves as Owner and Executive Vice-President. The Wings have won six league championships (1989, '90, '94, '95, '98, 2001), more than any other franchise in the history of the league.

In 1984, Cline formed RCA Group, an international sports and entertainment production and promotion company which provides turnkey event production services, sponsor management and event activation. Among RCA Group's clients and events are ESPN and the X-Games, the AND1 Mix Tape Tour, and Davis and Fed Cup Tennis for the United States Tennis Association. Cline is also the owner and President of Image Impact, a company that develops proprietary software for use in evaluating and identifying sponsorship logos in televised events.

Fritz is the President of New West Music Presentations, which is currently expanding into certain creative concepts for television, musicals, and movies creating a unique network of talent for collaboration on multiple projects. He is also a partner with Cline in promoting the AND1 Mix Tape Tour and a consultant for Clear Channel Entertainment.
