Tavares Named Player of the Week

John Tavares was selected as the league' Overall Player of the Week for his six-point performance (1G, 5A) in Buffalo's 14-9 win over Minnesota. Tavares' sixth point of the game tied him with Gary Gait as the league's all-time career regular season points leader with 1,091. Rush goaltender Pat Campbell wins Defensive honors after making 54 to lead Edmonton to its first victory, and Lumberjax defenseman Brodie Merrill wins the Offensive and Rookie of the Week Awards following a dominating seven-point (2G, 5A) and 18 loose ball performance against Philadelphia. Merrill led both teams in points and loose balls in the contest.

Brodie Merrill collects two weekly awards, Offensive and Rookie Player of the Week, for his performance in his team's 15-12 victory over Philadelphia. The rookie defenseman scored two goals and added five assists, for a total of seven points in the win and also collected 18 loose balls. The performance moves him into third place in the loose ball category for the season.

Pat Campbell had 54 saves on Friday night to lead the Edmonton Rush to its first win and earn the first weekly award in franchise history. The veteran, in his eighth season, put together a complete game as he tallied three assists and collected three loose balls in the 12-11 win over Calgary.

John Tavares takes home the Overall Player of the Week award for his six point (1G, 5A) showing in Buffalo's 14-9 win over Minnesota. His assist on Corey Bomberry's goal in the third quarter tied Gary Gait's all time points record and poises Tavares to break the record when his team next plays.

Week Seven Award Winners OFFENSIVE AND ROOKIE PLAYER OF THE WEEK Brodie Merrill (Portland) - (2G, 5A, 7Pts, 18LB) scored two goals and added five assists for a total of seven points. Merrill also collected eighteen loose balls in Portland's 15-12 win over Philadelphia.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK Pat Campbell (Edmonton) - (54 Saves, 11GA, 3A, 3LB) had 54 saves on 65 shots on goal allowing eleven in 12-11 win over Calgary, the expansion team's first win. Campbell also earned three points, with three assists, and collected three loose balls.

OVERALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK John Tavares (Buffalo) - (1G, 5A, 6Pts, 7LB) scored one goal and added five assists for a total of six points, as he tied the NLL Career Points record. Tavares also collected seven loose balls.

The Weekly Player Awards are determined by a vote of the General Managers & Head Coaches of the league's eleven member clubs.
