February 22, 2006 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Edmonton Rush News Release
EDMONTON, AB-The Edmonton Rush has another mark in their history books in its inaugural season. Goaltender Pat Campbell has been named Defensive Player of the Week.
Pat Campbell had 54 saves on Friday night to lead the Edmonton Rush to its first win and earn the first weekly award in franchise history. The veteran, in his eighth season, put together a complete game as he tallied three assists and collected three loose balls in the 12-11 win over provincial rivals the Calgary Roughnecks.
"The strength of our team this year has been Pat and he could have been the player of the week long ago if we had won some games." states GM/Head Coach Paul Day.
The weekly player awards are determined by a vote of the General Manager and Head Coaches of the league's eleven member clubs.
