SARASOTA, Fla. - Nine different players scored runs and six players tallied RBI's as the Rochester Red Wings beat the Norfolk Tides 10-4 Thursday afternoon in Sarasota.
Aaron Hicks was the only Wing to score twice while Danny Ortiz and Nate Hanson each drove in two runs. As a team, Rochester recorded 13 hits from 11 different players.
Jason Wheeler surrendered a two-run homer in the fourth inning but pitched well otherwise. The lefty finished his day by allowing two runs on three hits and a walk with a strikeout in 6.0 innings. The Wings staff allowed four runs (two earned) on six hits.
The Red Wings improved to 10-1-3 this spring.
Rochester hosts the Pawtucket Red Sox on Friday at 1 p.m.
