
Wingnuts, Cowart stop Canaries and losing streak

Wichita, KS- All-Star Adam Cowart threw a gem, helping the Wingnuts snap a five-game skid in a 3-0 victory over the Sioux Falls Canaries on Monday night at Lawrence Dumont Stadium.
Cowart pitched seven strong innings, allowing just six hits, no walks and struck out four, moving his record to 5-2. Four 'Nuts relievers combined in the last two innings, with Joe D'Allesandro throwing a 1-2-3 ninth to earn his second save.
The Wingnuts got on the board in the second when Dustan Mohr singled and went to third on a fielding error by center fielder Cory Harris. Mohr scored on a wild pitch. In the sixth, Greg Porter singled, stole second and scored on a Mohr single. The Wingnuts added a run in the eighth when Nick Blasi singled with two out and was tripled home by Porter.
