Windsor Spitfires Organizational Statement - Family Day 2024
February 15, 2024 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Windsor Spitfires News Release
WINDSOR, ON. - As we approach the Family Day weekend, the ownership, management, staff and players of the Windsor Spitfires want to extend our best wishes to the entire community, our passionate fan base and extended Spitfire family.
The Family Day weekend will always hold a special place in the hearts of our organization. Over the past few years, in collaboration with the Renaud family, we have transitioned our Family Day Game focus to an extended family celebration recognizing community, friends, family, and loved ones, all in the spirit of Mickey who dedicated his time to those around him. The Windsor Spitfires will continue to support, comfort, and collaborate with Mark and Jane Renaud as we remember the legacy of Mickey Renaud, our Captain Forever.
This year, we have several events planned for the Family Day weekend. We look forward to connecting with our community at the outdoor practice on Friday February 16th, in attendance at Knobby's Kids Breakfast on Saturday February 17th and cheering the Spits on at our Family Day home game on Sunday February 18th. Join us after the game as we conclude festivities with a post-game skate with the fans.
Every year on the Family Day weekend, we continue to host several community activities as well as the annual Family Day game. We ask you to join us again this year in carrying on the tradition of recognizing the importance of "Our Family & Our Community!".
