
Wilson Placed on Disabled List, Wipke Joins Bees

SALT LAKE CITY (May 28, 2008) - The Salt Lake Bees announced today that the club has placed catcher Bobby Wilson on the disabled list with a left wrist contusion and recalled catcher Flint Wipke from single-A Rancho Cucamonga.
Wilson, 25, has appeared in 37 games for the Bees in 2008, hitting .297 with nine doubles, one home run and 19 RBI. He made his major league debut with the Angels on April 28, recording his first hit, a single, in his first at bat against the Oakland Athletics. The Dunedin, Fla. native was originally selected by the Angels in the 48th round of the 2002 draft.
Wipke, 25, has appeared in 13 games for the Quakes in 2008, hitting .318 with four doubles, two home runs and nine RBI. His first appearance with Salt Lake will be his triple-A debut. The Louisiana, Mo. native was originally selected by the Angels in the 38th round of the 2005 draft.
