Wilmington Sea Dawgs Have Heart

It has been said that the Wilmington Sea Dawgs play with a lot of heart. On Wednesday, the team will be playing to promote healthy hearts.

That's why they are teaming up with Myrtle Grove Middle School for "Hoops for Hearts." This event, which benefits the American Heart Association, will take place this Wednesday, February 7th at 2:00 p.m. Students will have the chance to play alongside as well as against Sea Dawgs players in a variety of contests including "one-on-one", "3-point shootout" and other crowd pleasing tests of skill. "Salty Dawg", the team's mascot, will be handing out team merchandise as well as free tickets to upcoming home games.

"The Wilmington Sea Dawgs are looking forward to visiting the student and faculty of Myrtle Grove Middle School," says Head Coach Kevin Whitted. "Who knows, we may discover a future Sea Dawg amongst the contestants."

The next Wilmington Sea Dawgs home game is scheduled for Tuesday, February 13 against the Richmond Ballerz. Tickets are available at the door or in advance by calling 910-256-2565.
