BACK TO WORK: The Blue Rocks return to action tonight after having the last three days off with the all-star break. The Carolina League defeated the California League, 8-0, at Harry Grove Stadium in Frederick, MD on Tuesday. Wilmington's Anibal Sanchez made the start for the Carolina League and worked one scoreless inning. Zach Borowiak went 1-for-3 with a run scored in the win.

ON THE MOVE AGAIN: Dirimo Chavez, who recently returned from a short stint with Double-A Portland, was sent to Single-A Greenville (SAL) today. Chavez hit .228 with nine extra-base hits and 12 RBI in 35 games with Wilmington.

WELCOME ABOARD: Jon Devries has been added to the Blue Rocks active roster from Single-A Greenville (SAL). Devries, 22, went 3-for-14 in four games prior to being sent to Wilmington.

ON THE SLIDE: The Blue Rocks were swept in a three-game series over this past weekend at Winston-Salem. After Sunday's loss, the Blue Rocks are 10 games below .500 with their overall record for the first time in 2005. The Rocks are 5-10 over their last 15 games.

THE NEW HIT MACHINE: Scott Youngbauer went 1-for-4 with a triple and RBI in Sunday's loss and has hit safely in 11 in row. Youngbauer is 15-for-43 with four extra-base hits and 12 RBI over his first 11 games with Wilmington.

WHO'S HOT: Bryan Pritz had a 10-game hitting streak come to an end on Saturday, but collected two more hits in Sunday and has hit safely in 11 of his last 12 games. Over his last 19 games, Pritz is hitting .364 (24-for-66) with 13 runs scored.

WHO'S NOT: Scott White enters tonight's game with just five hits in his last 47 at-bats. After an eight-game hitting streak, Zach Borowiak is 0-for-14 in his last four games and has only two hits in his last 21 at-bats. Clint Chauncey has four hits in his last 28 at-bats.

OPPONENTS GOING YARD: The Blue Rocks pitching staff has allowed 28 home runs over the last 16 games and at least one in a season-high seven straight. The opposition has scored four or more runs against Wilmington in 17 games during the month of June.

ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER LINE-UP: The Blue Rocks used their 74th different lineup of the season in Sunday's loss. The Rocks used the same lineup in the first two games of the season and have not used the same lineup in two games since.

FUTURE STAR: Anibal Sanchez was selected to the 2005 Futures Team and will be a part of the World Team. The 2005 Futures Game will take place on Sunday, July 10 at Comerica Park in Detroit. Sanchez joins former Blue Rocks hurler Zack Greinke as the only two Blue Rocks to play in the Futures Game.

WHAT'S ON TAP?: The Wilmington Blue Rocks continue the second half of the season and open up a six-game home stand tonight.

Andrew Dobies takes the ball tonight in the series opener against the Hillcats. Dobies is 7-5 with a 4.07 ERA in 14 starts between Greenville and Wilmington.

Derrick Van Dusen goes to the mound tonight for his 10th start of the season and his third against the Blue Rocks. Van Dusen is 0-2 in two outings against Wilmington. The 24-year-old is 5-0 over his last six starts.

Wilmington vs. Lynchburg

PLAYING IN SEPTEMBER: The Hillcats captured the first-half Northern Division title and have qualified for the CL's postseason for the third time in the last four years.

HOME & AWAY: The Hillcats are 15-19 on the road this season with a 5.77 team ERA and 29-13 at home with a 3.84 team ERA. The Hillcats enter tonight's game having lost five in a row and seven of their last eight on the road.

‘05 SERIES: The Hillcats have won four of the seven meetings with the Blue Rocks in 2005. Wilmington and Lynchburg split a fourgame series at Frawley in May. The two clubs will meet for four separate series during the second half of the season.

YOU LOOK FAMILIAR: Scott Youngbauer and Derrick Van Dusen were teammates with Double-A Akron in the Cleveland Indians organization at the beginning of the season. They were both released by Cleveland prior to signing with new organizations.

ALL-TIME SERIES: The Blue Rocks hold a 146-100 advantage in the all-time series against the Lynchburg franchise, dating back to 1993. The Rocks have gone 76-49 against Lynchburg at Frawley and 70-51 in Lynchburg.
