
Williams, Legends Fend off Kings' Comeback

FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends (11-9) fought off a late comeback attempt from the Stockton Kings (13-7) to take a 135-133 win Friday night in Frisco.
Theo Pinson went 3-for-3 outside finishing the first quarter with 15 points to help Texas build a 42-22 lead at the first buzzer. Two minutes into the second, the Legends took their largest lead of the night (+23) before the Kings went on a 23-7 run. Stockton shot 57% and 50% outside to outscore Texas 41-31 and cut the deficit in half heading into the locker room.
The Kings opened the third with 13 points before Texas got on the board, holding the home team scoreless for three and a half minutes and taking their first lead of the night. The Legends struggled to connect, knocking down a game-low 33% in the third while the Kings clipped 52% and took a seven-point edge into the fourth. Greg Brown III grabbed the first basket of the fourth and set the tone for a strong finish. The Legends hit an 11-1 run and rebuilt their double-digit gap midway through the quarter. The visitors chipped away through the final minutes and tied the game with 18 seconds to play, but Brandon Williams had the final say to put Texas on top.
Williams made a splash in his Legends' debut with a team-high 31 points, 2 rebounds, 7 assists, and 2 steals. Brown added the Legends' only double-double of 24 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 blocks. Jordan Walker came off the bench for 22 points, 3 assists, and Theo Pinson finished 4-of-5 outside for 20 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals. Olivier-Maxence Prosper added 12 points, 8 rebounds and Warith Alatishe rounded out the double figures with 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals.
Jordan Ford led the Kings with 31 points, 4 rebounds, and 6 assists. Skal Labissiere finished with a double-double of 29 points, 14 rebounds, and 5 assists. Jaylen Nowell came off the bench to add 23 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists.
