Texas Legends News Release

FRISCO, TX - Brandon Williams had a new team season-high 46 points to help propel the Texas Legends (14-10) past the South Bay Lakers (12-10) 129-106.

Theo Pinson made a statement with the first basket, sinking an outsider to put Texas on top first. With one minute left in the quarter, the Lakers had cut a nine-point lead down to two, but Pinson had the final say of the first as well with another triple. He followed it up with another quarter opener in the second, but the Lakers responded with an 11-2 run to take their first edge of the night. After six lead changes, Pinson and Prosper combined for four points and a block to put Texas on top at the half.

Both teams struggled outside in the third, shooting 10%. Williams grabbed 15 third-quarter points to boost the Legends to a double-digit lead, then followed it up with 11 in the fourth. Texas clipped 65% and 67% outside and took their largest lead of the night (+23) in the final minute.

Williams neared a triple-double while reaching a career-high 46 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists, 1 steal, and 2 blocks. Olivier-Maxence Prosper finished with 23 points, 10 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 blocks, and Greg Brown III added a second double-double of 14 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Tyler Hall added 18 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists and Pinson finished the double digits with 13 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 steals.

Jalen Hood-Schifino led the Lakers with 27 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals. Shaquille Harrison tagged on 21 points, 8 rebounds, and Bryce Hamilton added 17 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists.

The Legends hit the road for a five-game stretch beginning in Salt Lake City Tuesday, March 5 at 8pm CT. All games will be broadcast live on the UEN app and urbanedge.network.
