The Major Arena Soccer League announced on Wednesday that 4 members of the Blast have been recognized by the league for their performances last weekend helping the Blast move to 9-0 on the season. William Vanzela and Pat Healey have been named to the MASL Team of the Week while Tony Donatelli and Vini Dantas were named honorable mention.

The Blast won two key divisional games against Harrisburg and Syracuse last weekend. William Vanzela allowed only 3 goals in each game including several key saves against Syracuse to lead the Blast to victory. Vanzela, who has played every minute of the season in goal, recorded 33 saves during the 2 games and continues to lead the league in GAA (2.33) and save percentage (.833). In front of Vanzela, Blast captain Pat Healey led the defense which has given up a league low 21 goals this season. Healey recorded 9 blocks in 2 games while adding 2 goals and an assist. Healey is third in the league in blocks (21), tied for third on the team in assists, and ranks fourth on the Blast in points. Vanzela and Healey who were the MASL Goalkeeper and Defender of the Year are making a case to defend their awards again this season.

After a four goal night in Harrisburg, Tony Donatelli was able to add another goal and an assist against Syracuse for a 6 point weekend. Vini Dantas, who has scored in every Blast game this season, recorded 3 goals and 4 assists during both games for a 7 point weekend.
