Moncton, NB – League scoring leader Sidney Crosby (11th, 12th) scored two goals and added one assist but it was Moncton's veteran Steve Bernier (10th, 11th, 12th) who stole the show, scoring three goals and adding one assist, to lead the Moncton Wildcats, to an impressive 9 – 5 victory over the visiting Rimouski Oceanic before 6,483 on Sunday.

Moncton held period leads of 4 – 1 and 8 – 3.

Rounding out the Moncton scoring summary were Brad Marchand (1st), Adam Pineault (9th), Charles Bergeron (4th), Stephane Goulet (5th), Jerome Sampson (2nd) and Bruce Graham (10th). Josh Hepditch added two assists, with single helpers coming from Graham, Pineault, Marchand, Goulet, Oscars Bartulis, Christian Gaudet, Ryan Salvis and Guillaume Veilleux. Replying for the Oceanic were Dany Roussin, Marc Tobin and Marc-Antoine Pouliot.

Both teams had 40 shots, with Moncton holding a 15 – 8 advantage in the first and 16 – 11 in the second, while Rimouski had a 21 – 9 advantage in the third. Rimouski was 1 for 7 on the powerplay, while Moncton went 2 for 8. Moncton's Corey Crawford blocked 35 of 40 shots to improve his record to league-leading 11 – 3 – 1. Cedrick Desjardins (9 – 5 – 1) allowed six goals on 18 shots in 23:33 to suffer the setback before being relieved by Scott Fraser, who allowed three goals on 22 shots in the final 36:27. The game's three stars were #1 – Steve Bernier, #2 – Sidney Crosby and #3 – Brad Marchand.

Moncton now hits the road for three games, beginning on Tuesday in Bathurst, Friday in Cape Breton and Saturday in Halifax, before returning home to host the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies on Wednesday, November 10th at 7 pm.
