
Wildcats Steal Game 1 in Halifax 4-1

Fresh from eliminating the Baie-Comeau Drakkar on Tuesday night, the Wildcats didn't miss a step in stopping the Mooseheads 4-1 in Halifax before 8,000 fans at a quiet Scotiabank Centre. The Cats take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven Gilles-Courteau Trophy Playoffs.
Vincent Labelle's powerplay goal gave Moncton a 1-0 first period lead. In the second period Moncton struck for three goals - Natan Grenier (1st), Yoan Loshing (6th) and Max Barbashev (3rd) at 19:56.
The Cats' Jacob Steinman was outstanding with 39 saves as the game's 1st Star. The Cats had 28 shots at Mathis Rousseau. Second Star Charles Beaudoin added two assists, as did defenseman Etienne Morin, giving him 15 points in the playoffs.
