Wildcats, Sea Dogs Renew Rivalry Cup Battle

MONCTON and SAINT JOHN - The Moncton Wildcats, Saint John Sea Dogs and Brunswick News have teamed up for the eighth annual Brunswick News Rivalry Cup.

Since 2009, the Brunswick News Rivalry Cup has been awarded to the team accumulating the most Rivalry Cup points during regular season games between the Wildcats and Sea Dogs.

Moncton won last year's Brunswick News Rivalry Cup, 7-2, by winning seven of nine games in the season series. This year's edition will use the same scoring format: the winning club in games between the two teams will earn one point.

The Brunswick News Rivalry Cup schedule includes nine games:

Sunday, September 13th - Moncton at Saint John, 3 p.m.

Saturday, October 24th - Moncton at Saint John, 7 p.m.

Sunday, October 25th - Saint John at Moncton, 3 p.m.

Thursday, November 12th - Moncton at Saint John, 8 p.m.

Friday, December 4th - Moncton at Saint John, 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday, December 9th - Saint John at Moncton, 7 p.m.

Wednesday, February 3rd - Saint John at Moncton, 7 p.m.

Wednesday, March 9th - Saint John at Moncton, 7 p.m.

Saturday, March 12th - Moncton at Saint John, 7 p.m.

Games on October 24th and 25th are part of the QMJHL Rivalry Weekend.
