
Wildcats Get Back to Winning Ways on Avenir Centre Ice

The Wildcats turned in a solid performance Friday night at the Avenir Centre topping the Gatineau Olympiques 5-2 before 3,800 fans. The win ended a four-game road losing streak.
Moncton's #1 ranked powerplay was deadly Friday night with three goals - 2 by captain Yoan Loshing (34th, 35th) and the other by Adam Fortier-Gendron (5th). Other tallies by Vincent Collard (24th) and Connor Trenholm (9th). Honorable mention, with two assists each - 2nd Star Caleb Desnoyers, 3rd Star Miles Müller and Preston Lounsbury.
The Cats put in a strong third period, outshooting Gatineau 15-3 for a 30-21 edge in the contest. Jacob Steinman recorded the victory in goal.

The win sets the scene for an exciting home-and-home long weekend matchup with the Mooseheads. Sunday's game at 3pm at Scotiabank Centre and NB Holiday Monday moves to the Avenir Centre at 2pm. The Mooseheads lost Friday in Cape Breton 5-3 to the Eagles.
