December 14, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
San Diego Wildcats News Release
San Diego, CA. Before we know it, the holidays will be here once again. This year, AJ's Kids Crane 2006 is once again raising toys for the patients of Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego for the fifth straight year. AJ is a popular radio personality on San Diego's 93.3. On Thursday, he appeared live in the parking lot of IKEA in Mission Valley - and has made a pledge not to leave his crane until he raises 60,0000 toys for AJ's Kids! He will eat, sleep, broadcast live (and event go to the bathroom) from the top of his Kid's Crane. There will also be toy drop-off locations at various L & L Hawaiian BBQ Restaurants all over San Diego County.
The San Diego Wildcats attended the open event - and presented the station with 25 ABA basketballs to help the fundraiser and to kick off the campaign. The players also signed autographs and gave out t-shirts. For more information, visit www.sandiegowildcats.com or www.abalive.com.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams. For information on professional minor leagues, please see OSC's basketball section.
