Buffalo Silverbacks News Release

Buffalo, NY - The Buffalo Silverbacks continue their home court win streak with their fifth straight victory at Buffalo State College Arena Thursday night, defeating Richmond 123-116. This game follows a 117-97 victory over Richmond the previous night, but the two games could not have been more different. Richmond came out Thursday night reinvigorated. Maybe it was the day of rest following a 9 hour drive, or maybe it was their craving to avenge the loss from the night before. Regardless, Richmond came out ready to battle closing out the first quarter 30-26 in favor of Richmond. Buffalo answered with 39 points in the second to bring it to 58-65 by the half. Richmond came back again and outscored Buffalo bringing it to 87-84 after the 3rd. The 4th quarter was some of the most heart pounding basketball you could image. It was a basketball "tug-of-war" up until the last three minutes of the game when a flurry of three pointers from Antoine Sims and a slam dunk by Kevin Ross let the Silverbacks break-off from the Ballerz.

Kevin "Hoop Killer" Ross (named so after bringing the basket to the floor in previous game this season) was the LHR Most Valuable Player for the night with 25 points and 12 rebounds. The ever reliable Antoine Sims contributed his average "20 or so" per game with 21 points. Being pulled from the game in the third due to foul trouble didn't stop Todd Jones, NBA Summer Pro League Slam Dunk Champion, from throwing down 15 points for the 'Backs.

The Silverbacks next Christmas Spectacular will take place on December 20th as the thruway rivalry continues vs. the neighboring Rochester Razorsharks. The Silverbacks Santa will be giving away 5 XBOX 360 Platinum Systems and 10 XBOX games. Doors open at 7:30pm, tip off 8:05pm. Made possible by AdPro Team Sports in association with LHR, Integrity Distribution and the Family.
