
Wildcats Claw Their Way into 3rd in East

The Moncton Wildcats reeled off their 7th win in the last 8 games, downing the hometown Oceanic 5-3 in Rimouski Wednesday night and enabling the Cats to pull into 3rd place in the Eastern Conference.
First star Etienne Morin snapped a 3-3 tie with a powerplay goal, his 18th, and Max Barbashev found the empty net (29th) late in the third to ensure Moncton's 32nd win of the season. Other goals to Yoan Loshing (27th) Anthony Hamel (3rd) and Jonas Taibel (12th). Charles Beaudoin contributed two assists and goaltender Jacob Steinman delivered another win with a 30-save performance.

The playoff-bound Wildcats have 5 games left in the regular season and play host to the Charlottetown Islanders Friday night at 7 p.m. at the Avenir. We'll be in our St. Patrick's Day best to take on the Isles. Come out and wear green!

The Cats visit the Mooseheads Sunday at 2pm. Next week, Moncton will host the Cape Breton Eagles Wednesday night at 7 pm and Saturday at 4pm to conclude the regular season.
