
Wildcats add local talent to 2006 roster

South Georgia Wildcats News Release
ALBANY, GA- The South Georgia Wildcats today announce the signing of seven players, including two from last season's roster. Fullback/linebacker Antonio Leroy, offensive/defensive linemen Rodney Magwood, Tracy Flounoy, Jarvis Davis and Elliot Bonds, defensive specialist Jonathan George and wide receiver/defensive back Anthony Ridgeway will be among the 30 players invited to Wildcats training camp in March.
Leroy, (5-10, 220 pounds), an Albany native, returns to the Wildcats from last season's team. Leroy saw action in four games and rushed for 10 yards on nine attempts and one touchdown. He also added 5.5 tackles (4 solo) on the defensive side of the ball.
Magwood, (6-2, 344 pounds), played in five games for the Wildcats last season. Magwood played collegiate football at Albany State University. In four seasons with the Golden Rams, Magwood played a key role on the Rams offensive line and was named SBN Black College All-American in 2003.
Flounoy, (6-3, 340 pounds), joins the Wildcats by way of Valdosta State. In two seasons with the Blazers, he totaled 61 tackles (26 solo), 1.5 sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. Flounoy was a member of the Blazers football team when they were crowned Gulf South Conference champions and Division II National Champions in 2004.
Davis, (6-5, 348 pounds), played four seasons at Albany State University. In 34 games, he recorded 72 tackles (33 solo), one sack and one forced fumble.
Bonds, (6-2, 315 pounds), totaled 51 tackles (17 solo), two fumble recoveries and 3.5 sacks in 17 games with Albany State University.
George, (5-9, 180 pounds) and Ridgeway, (6-0, 195 pounds) will join the Wildcats during training camp.
The Arena Football League is entering its 20th season and the South Georgia Wildcats are entering their second season in Albany, GA. The Wildcats will kickoff the 2006 season against Tennessee Valley Vipers on Saturday, April 8th at the Albany Civic Center. Wildcats season tickets are now on sale starting at just $70.
