August 19, 2005 - ECHL (ECHL)
Augusta Lynx News Release
After a highly successful freshman campaign, the Augusta Lynx and Wild Wing Café have announced that they will extend their partnership for the 2005-06 Season, including the continuation of the Behind the Bench Coach's Show at the location.
Alighting in Augusta nearly one year ago at 3035 Washington Rd., Wild Wing Café was an instant hit with Lynx fans. Hosting the Behind the Bench Coach's Show in a family-friendly environment, both sides benefited from the partnership and agreed to continue that same arrangement this season, as well as adding a new feature!
This year, Wild Wing Café is sponsoring the "Wild Winger of the Month" Award, which will be given to a chosen Lynx forward for each month of the regular season. The "Wild Winger of the Month" Award will see the winning player presented with a $20 gift certificate to Wild Wing Café courtesy of the restaurant prior to a Lynx home game.
"They've done a great job for us in hosting the show," said Tom Callahan, Lynx director of broadcasting and public relations. "The staff is first-rate and incredibly helpful, the venue is fun, and of course the food is fantastic! The Wild Winger of the Month will bring even more exposure to a very unique and recognizable brand in Augusta."
Also returning to reprise his roll with the show from previous years will be Lynx Man in the Stands Scott Skadan. Skadan, who roves the Augusta-Richmond County Civic Center during all Lynx home games, also fields questions from faithful fans at the Behind the Bench Coach's Show, addressing them to coaches and players alike.
"We're very happy to have Scott back," said Callahan. "He's been wonderful to work with and we're pleased that he's going to stay with us. The show just wouldn't be right without him."
The Behind the Bench Coach's Show will once again air on Monday nights throughout the season from 7 - 8 pm, the same time slot it occupied last season. This season's premier episode will emanate live from Wild Wing Café on October 24th - come down and join us!
