Winger Sean Starke Agrees To Terms

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Gulls and left-winger Sean Starke have agreed to terms for the 2005-06 season, head coach Martin St. Amour announced on Friday. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. The Gulls also announced that goaltender Jason Tapp was released.

With the addition of Starke and deletion of Tapp, the Gulls' roster for the 2005-06 season still stands at 12. To view the entire roster, log onto www.sandiegogulls.com and click "The Gulls."

Starke, 25, notched 39 points (19g, 20a) and 75 penalty minutes in 68 games last season for the United Hockey League's Kalamazoo Wings. He also appeared in five playoff games for Kalamazoo, recording one assist.

The 6-foot-2-inch, 215-pound native of Montreal began his professional career in 2003-04 playing overseas in Germany with Neuss. In 34 games with Neuss, Starke racked up 40 points (19g, 21a) and 103 penalty minutes.

Before turning pro Starke spent four years at Bowdoin College, located in Maine. During his collegiate tenure, he netted 101 points in 100 games and earned team MVP honors following his senior season.

The Gulls open their third season in the ECHL Friday, Oct. 21 in Alaska and open their home schedule Saturday, Nov. 5 against Stockton. Season ticket packages are currently on sale.
