Joliet, IL - The Joliet Slammers presented by ATI Physical Therapy played according to schedule, despite the heavy rains throughout the evening. The team slipped on the field and on the scoreboard, losing to Washington 13-2 in game 2 of the series.
The game opened on a first pitch solo home run by Washington's James Harris, when he hit a line drive that narrowly escaped the park in right-center field.
The Slammers would bounce back in the bottom of the 2nd, when DH R.J. Thompson hit a single into right field, bringing home 2 runs and giving the Slammers a 2-1 lead.
The Slammers would fall behind for the remainder of the game, losing 13-2.
Tonight's Merchants and Manufacturers Player of the Game is R.J Thompson (2-3, 2 RBIs). The Slammers return for game 3 of the series Thursday night at 7:05 p.m.
